Update 16th Mar'2015:
The adjustment of height and stagger was completed on Sunday 15th Mar. The expansion joints were also checked and final regulated. This was followed by final check with a pan-unit and tunnel clean-up works.
Officials from NR & F+F also visited the site and the response was encouraging.
The system is now ready for commissioning.

Update: 12th Mar 2015
After being ahead of schedule for most of the works, we faced a little hickups with final lot of deliveries and some last minute changes which resulted in a delay. We were able to complete the contact wire insertion today for the tunnel as well as the adjoining conventional overhead line sections. A total of 2.2km new contact wire was installed.
The catenary / messenger wire is terminated on the tunnel portal.

Update 01st Mar'2015:
After completing the bracket installation ahead of planned date, we could start conductor rail installation today. The transition bar is the first element of the rail which goes up, followed by Anchor bar and conductor bars.
The rails were prepared with interlocking joints before taking up the platform for installation. We are now moving ahead of schedule and this will allow us more time for final adjustment and regulation of the system.Read Full Post »

Update: 23rd Feb 2015
After a little mix-up on Friday with regard to site access for working on the weekend, the work commenced this morning with Drop Tube installation. Pull out tests were also conducted on some randon locations.
The drop tube installation is critical as the tubes need to be exactly perpendicular to the track. This makes the installation a little tricky but AMCO team could understand the right way to keep the level always at 90 degrees to the track....Read Full Post »

Update: 20th Feb 2015
The drilling work has been completed ahead of schedule. The team has now begun to set resin and anhcors longwith carrying pull out tests on some locations. The drop tubes also arrived today late afternoon. These were subsequently placed on location to facilitate the team to commence support installation tomorrow. Update: 10th Feb 2015
The drilling rig set was completed today. All the electrical connections were tested. Water recycling pump was checked. Level of drilling machine was set as per the design requirements. Vertical movement of the three drilling machines was tested. A work platform was also attached next to the drilling rig for the workmen. The drilling will now commence on 11th Feb 2015, 0800 hrs.

Update: 12th Feb 2015
Progressing well, the drilling crossed the 50% mark today. The workmen were able to keep good pace and drill about 70 locations in today's shift. We were lucky that there were no train operations today and we had full access to the track.
Tomorrow we plan to put in some resin anchors also, so that they are ready for pull out test on Monday, 17th Feb.

Update 11th Feb 2015:
We were hoping to start the works early. But there was some train operation on the test track which did not allow us to get on with the works. After getting the track possession at around 1130, the drilling commenced at around 1200. The first two locations were drilled. Then the measurements were taken from the track level to check the setting distance. A minor correction was done in the drilling rig position before proceeding to the next location. Update: 06th Feb 2015
The F+F Drilling Rig arrived at Stanton tunnel on 06th Feb 2015. The drilling rig has been loaded onto the rail trailer and pushed into the Stanton Tunnel. Thr drilling rig will now be set up over next 2 working days to suitable drilling dimensions. Drilling is planned to commence on 11th / 12th Feb 2015.
